Amsterdam Netherlands

Amsterdam is perpetually in motion. As well as being the most bike friendly city in Europe, it’s a place that’s always forward thinking. For a city of only 780,000, its experimental residents past and present can be credited with innovations ranging from the humble chocolate bar to the groundbreaking 3D printed Canal House. You’ll also find beautifully preserved 17th century town houses lining the UNESCO-listed network of canals. There are also huge open spaces – not just parks but beaches, too – full of locals picnicking on Old Amsterdam cheese or working out, and some of the best, most provocative exhibitions in the world. There’s so much to do here, so many inspiring and thought-provoking events and ideas taking root, you won’t want to stop exploring.
