  The Virgin Australia lounge is open seven days a week from 45 minutes prior to the first Virgin Australia departure until the last Virgin Australia flight is called for boarding.

Becoming a KrisFlyer Elite Gold Member

Your membership year will be the 12-month period from the date of your enrolment as a KrisFlyer member or upgrade to KrisFlyer Elite Silver status. During this time, you may qualify for KrisFlyer Elite Gold status by earning the required number of Elite miles.

KrisFlyer Elite Gold status will be yours when you achieve 50,000 Elite miles in any class of service on Singapore Airlines, SilkAir or any Star Alliance airline during your Elite Silver membership year.

If you achieve an upgrade to KrisFlyer Elite Gold status, your Elite Gold membership year will begin on the date of your upgrade.

Renewing Your KrisFlyer Elite Gold Membership

Your Elite Gold membership will be renewed if you earn at least 50,000 Elite miles during your Elite Gold membership year.

 

 

Elite miles

 

Elite miles are earned for tracking towards Elite membership only and cannot be redeemed for award flights or upgrades.

Elite miles are derived from the actual miles flown, plus any applicable class bonuses earned on tickets that are mileage accruable.*  When flying on Singapore Airlines or SilkAir, class bonuses are awarded based on 100%, 125% and 150% of the actual distance travelled, in Economy Class, Business Class,and First Class respectively. The accrual in the Singapore Airlines Suites is 300% of the actual distance travelled for booking fare class R and 150% for booking classes F and P.

On partner airlines, the Elite miles earned may differ. Miles earned through any tier bonus or promotional bonus do not qualify as Elite miles. No Elite miles are accrued for booking classes not eligible for miles accrual.

No Elite miles are earned if you do not credit your miles to your KrisFlyer account or if the flight is on a non-mileage accruable fare.

* On Singapore Airlines and SilkAir, all booking classes earn miles except V, Q, G, N and T.
