Fuel surcharge to be counted towards PPS Value

 
 

From 1 July onwards, PPS Value can be earned on the fuel surcharge component of your ticket, in addition to the airfare, when PPS Club and KrisFlyer members travel in the Singapore Airlines Suites, First or Business Class on Singapore Airlines or SilkAir. This means that the amount you pay for fuel surcharge will now count towards your PPS Value and qualification or re-qualification as a PPS Club member.

This change will be applicable for all eligible flights departing from 1 July 2013 regardless of when the booking was made. For more information, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions below or click here

1. How does earning PPS Value change from 1 July 2013?

Prior to 1 July 2013, you can earn PPS Value on the airfare component of your ticket only when you travel in the Singapore Airlines Suites, First or Business Class on Singapore Airlines or SilkAir. From 1 July 2013 onwards, you will be able to earn PPS Value on the fuel surcharge component of your ticket, in addition to the airfare component. This will be applicable for all eligible flights departing on and after 1 July 2013 regardless of when the booking was made.

2. If my itinerary comprises flights that depart before and after 1 July 2013, will I be able to earn PPS Value on the fuel surcharge paid for all the flights in my itinerary?

No, you will only earn PPS Value on the fuel surcharge for those flight(s) departing on and/or after 1 July 2013.

3. Will I be able to earn PPS Value on airport taxes?

No, you will not be able to earn PPS Value on airport taxes. You will only earn PPS Value on the airfare and fuel surcharge components of your ticket(s).

4. Will there be any change to the qualification and re-qualification criteria for PPS Club members?

No, the criteria to qualify for PPS Club members will remain the same. You will need to earn a PPS Value of S$25,000 within 12 consecutive months to qualify as a PPS Club member, and S$250,000 within 5 consecutive PPS Club membership years to qualify as a Solitaire PPS Club member.

Similarly, the criteria for re-qualification remain the same. To renew your PPS Club membership each year, you will need to earn a PPS Value of at least S$25,000 within 12 consecutive months.

5. Will this change affect how I earn KrisFlyer or Elite miles?
