We strive to depart our flights on schedule. It is a commitment to our customers of the high standard of punctuality, that we uphold. We recommend that you check-in at least 2½ hours before scheduled time of departure if you have checked baggage, or 1½ hours before scheduled time of departure if you have no baggage. Please also board early and ensure that you are at the boarding gate at least 15 minutes prior to departure. You may like to know that boarding gates are normally open at 60 minutes before the scheduled departure of your flight.

You may want to note that all SIA flights departing from Singapore will stop acceptance of passengers for check-in at 40 minutes to departure. For other countries, please check with the local office for check-in closure times or click here to view them.

Please proceed for boarding early. At Singapore Changi Airport, do plan to allow sufficient time for security clearance as you will be required to do so, prior to entering the boarding gate. In addition, the boarding gate will be closed 10 minutes before departure.

If you are connecting onto another flight at Singapore Changi Airport, you may find the following tips useful:

• Ensure that you do not have any restricted items in your cabin bags (For information on baggage restrictions, please click here.)
• Have your travel documents, namely your passport and boarding pass, ready for verification by staff at the boarding gate.
• Give yourself sufficient time to get to your boarding gate depending on where it is located.
• For transit passengers, we recommend that you set your time to the local time of the country (Singapore local time is GMT+8).

Our punctuality performance is for all passenger flights departing within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure.
