Can I book a flight for Passengers even if I am not travelling with them?

Yes. You can book and pay for your friends, family, or colleagues even if you are not travelling with them. You need to indicate during the booking process on the “Enter Passenger Details” page that you are not part of the travelling party. Secondly, as a paying party, you will need to submit a Letter of Indemnity at our Ticketing Office.

What is a Letter of Indemnity (LOI)?

Letter of Indemnity is a declaration in which you agree to use your own credit/debit card to make a booking for passengers whom you are not travelling with and give your consent to Singapore Airlines to deduct payment from your payment card. By signing a Letter of Indemnity, you indemnify SIA against any payment dispute that may arise from such bookings.

How do I submit a Letter of Indemnity (LOI)?

As a Guest Booker, you will need to sign and submit a Letter of Indemnity at a SIA Ticketing office. You need to bring the credit/debit card used for the booking and photo identity for verification.

Are there any card verification or Letter of Indemnity (LOI) submission waiver benefits for KrisFlyer members when they make bookings for passengers whom they are not travelling with?

Yes. KrisFlyer members enjoy LOI waiver benefits and greater convenience with regards to card verification. To find out more, please login as a KrisFlyer member to make your online booking.

Is there any way Guest Bookers can have a waiver for card verification and Letter of Indemnity (LOI) submission when they book for passengers whom they are not travelling with?

Yes, Guest Bookers can have a waiver for card verification and LOI submission when they pay with a Visa or MasterCard card registered under the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode programmes. They will not need to present the credit/debit card used for the booking for verification nor submit an LOI.

What are the Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode programmes?

Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode are secured programmes for Visa and MasterCard cards respectively. These programmes make your online credit/debit card transactions safe by asking you to key in an online password/private code that is known only to you. A personal online password/private code prevents the unauthorised use of your credit/debit card for online transactions.

How do I register my Visa or MasterCard card under the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode programme?

You can register Visa or MasterCard under the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode programme as long as your card-issuer supports these programmes. If you cannot find your card-issuing bank in the lists provided by Visa or MasterCard, please contact your card- issuing bank directly.

What happens if I do not comply with the Letter of Indemnity (LOI) requirements?

If the LOI is not submitted, the passengers on the booking will not be allowed to check-in and will be asked to purchase a new ticket using their own credit/debit cards. However the ticket price will remain the same.

Do you have any time restrictions when I book for passengers whom I am not travelling with?

No, you can make online bookings for them at any time. However if their departure date is in less than 3 days, we can accept the booking only when you pay with a Visa or MasterCard card registered under the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode programmes. You will not need to present your card for verification nor submit a Letter of Indemnity (LOI).

KrisFlyer Elite Silver/Gold/Solitaire PPS club members do not have any time or payment restrictions when they make bookings for passengers whom they are not travelling with.

Can I book a flight for passengers whom I am not travelling with from a city where Singapore Airlines (SIA) does not directly depart from?

Yes, you can book a flight from a city where SIA doest not directly depart from, provided there is connectivity to our flights through a partner airline. However, we can only accept these bookings when you pay with a Visa or MasterCard card registered under the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode programmes. You will not be required to present your card for verification.

KrisFlyer Elite Silver/Gold & Solitaire PPS club members do not have any payment restrictions when they make bookings for passengers whom they are not travelling with from a city where SIA does not directly depart from.
