Locating Flights

Which flights are available for online booking?

Online booking is available on flights out of most cities in the Singapore Airlines network, and several other cities which are served by Singapore Airlines’ offices. Passengers can fly to or stopover at more than 450 cities worldwide. Please be aware that from time to time, certain cities may be unavailable for online booking.

I cannot locate the city I wish to travel to on the list. How do I find it?

Only a select list of the many cities to which you may travel are shown. If you do not see your desired destination city, you may click the arrow icon to navigate to any of the more than 450 cities worldwide to which you may make an online booking. To locate your destination, select the desired country, city, and airport when prompted.

I still cannot find the city I wish to travel to. What should I do?

If you would like schedule or fare information that is not currently displayed on singaporeair.com, please contact your nearest Singapore Airlines office or travel agent. Contact details can be found on the Contact Us page.

Some flights are not displayed for booking. Why is that so?

Only flights with seats available in the selected travel class are displayed. Some flights may not have seats in the travel class you have selected, or, all classes could be sold out. Flight availability changes dynamically as seats are purchased or cancelled by passengers.

Does the online booking system only search for the date that I have chosen?

If your destination city is serviced by a Singapore Airlines or a Singapore Airlines and Silk Air flight, the ‘Find low prices with flexible dates’ option will appear. Select this option to see flights up to 7 days before and after your chosen date.
Flights on Other Airlines

Why am I being offered flights on other airlines?

Singapore Airlines has agreements with other airlines allowing us to offer their flights to our customers. When that happens, it is termed as an interline booking. Interline booking allows Singapore Airlines to offer flights to more cities, and provide more flight options to our customers.

Are there any conditions for making an interline booking?

Your itinerary must consist of at least one Singapore Airlines flight.

Which partner airlines do you support in your interline bookings?

We do not exclude any airlines from our interline bookings. However, we take into consideration connection times between our flights and the partner airlines when providing flight options to our customers. We may also take into account agreements with partner airlines, which allow us to offer more competitive fares to our customers.

Can I check on flight schedules for other airlines?

We are only able to provide flight schedules for Singapore Airlines, codeshare, or marketing agreement flights. Please contact the other airlines directly if you require their flight schedule information.

What is a codeshare flight?

A codeshare flight is a flight that is marketed by one carrier and operated by another. Singapore Airlines is able to offer codeshare flights to our customers as a result of agreements made with our partner airlines to offer seats on their flights.

How do I identify a codeshare flight?

Codeshare flights will be appended with a remark during flight selection. For example, SQ2050 from Frankfurt to Munich is marketed by Singapore Airlines and operated by Lufthansa. Hence during flight selection, SQ2050 would be displayed with the remark “Operated by Lufthansa.”
Third Party Booking

Can I make a booking for my friend/relative even if I am not part of the travelling party?

Yes. Firstly, you will need to indicate that the paying party is not travelling on the booking.  Secondly, as the paying party, you will need to sign and present the LOI along with your payment card and photo identity for verification at any SIA Ticketing office.  For a list of SIA Ticketing Offices, click here.

What is a letter of indemnity (L.O.I.)?

The Letter of Indemnity is a form for you to authorize payment for the booking made on behalf of a third party. This protects you by seeking your consent for the transaction, given that you are not part of the travelling party.

Why am I required to sign a Letter of Indemnity (L.O.I.)?

The Letter of Indemnity is a necessary check to prevent misuse of your payment card from an unauthorized user, and to safeguard your interests. It is a document that formalises your acknowledgement of the travellers under your booking. The letter will prevent any abuse of your credit card, as it requires you as the owner of the payment card to be present to authenticate the transaction at the city ticket office or the airport.

What happens if I do not submit the LOI?

If the LOI is not submitted, the passenger will not be allowed to check-in for his/her flight.

Can I download the Letter of Indemnity (L.O.I.)?

You can click here to download the document. It is recommended that you complete the form and present it to our Customer Service Agent.

Where can I submit my Letter of Indemnity document?

You may submit the LOI at any SIA Ticketing Offices only (excluding check-in counters at the airport).  Please bring along the payment card used for the purchase, along with a photo identification document for verification.  For a list of SIA Ticketing Offices, please click here.

Can I sign the form and fax it over to you instead of me going down to the city/airport office?

To safeguard both your and Singapore Airlines’ interests, our Customer Service Agents need to authenticate you as the paying party by matching the signature on your payment card with the signature of the LOI.  Hence, submission of the LOI by fax or email is not allowed.

When I collect the Electronic Tickets or paper tickets (for travel to stations that do not accept Electronic Tickets), does the traveller need to be present?

If you opt for Ticket collection in our City Ticket office, there is no need for the traveller to accompany you. You will however need to bring the Letter of Indemnity, your credit card and a photo identity for our reference in order to get the ticket issued. If you opt for ticket on Departure, you will need to collect the tickets a minimum of 2 hours before departure at the airport.

What happens if the person(s) I have purchased the tickets for, does not travel?

The refund procedures are the same as the existing processes. You will still be liable for cancellation fees and/or any related charges for the ticket.
Multicity Bookings

Do I need to use the Multicity page when I'm booking a basic point-to-point itinerary?

No, you can use the simpler main booking page (available on the www.singaporeairlines.com home page and other subsequent pages) for most flights, including basic departure city-to-destination city trips.

I need to make a stopover. How can I do this?

A stopover is a break in the journey for more than 24 hours on one of the cities that you pass through on your itinerary. Should you require a stopover, you may specify your preferred stopover by accessing the Multicity page from the online booking facility or by contacting a Singapore Airlines office.

Can I return to a different city from where I started?

Yes, you can return to a different city from where you started your journey. You can make this type of booking by accessing the Multicity page from the online booking facility.

Can I make a round-the-world or circle trip booking?

Sorry, we are unable to provide special fares for these bookings through the online booking facility. As such you may be quoted the full published fares if you constructed such an itinerary. Please contact your local Singapore Airlines office to book such an itinerary.

Can I construct a multicity itinerary that switches to another city?

Yes, we are pleased to offer multicity bookings that have a switch between the arrival and the departure city. For example, you can choose to travel from Singapore to San Francisco and return from Los Angeles to Singapore. This is known as “open-jaw booking.” Please make your own travel arrangements (either by land, sea, or another airline) for that particular sector.

How do I book an open-jaw itinerary?

You can book an open-jaw itinerary on the Multicity page accessed from the online booking facility. When you choose an arrival city from the Multicity page, this city is automatically entered as the departure city for the following sector. To book an open-jaw itinerary, simply choose an alternate departure city.

I cannot find any flights for my itinerary. Why is this so?

Multi city booking system goes by fixed date and fixed flight and only supports SIA, SilkAir and Codeshare flights.
Instances where passengers will not be able to retrieve flight itinerary for multi-city booking:
  • If any one particular flight sector is not available on the flight date pax indicates,
  • If any one particular flight sector/class of travel is fully booked.
  • If any one particular flight does not operate on the flight date that pax indicates.
  • If any one particular flight sector is not operated by either SIA, MI or is a codeshared flight.
  • If any one particular flight sector does not offer/have the particular class of travel.
  • The itinerary that you selected does not include at least one flight that is flown on Singapore Airlines.
  • There are traffic restrictions prohibiting Singapore Airlines from operating in a particular area.

Solution: Passenger needs to do trial and error with the flight dates, otherwise, refer to our flight schedule and check to see if SIA/MI/code share flights are operating for that particular flight sector.
