An additional A380 service on the Singapore-London route will be added on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The world’s largest passenger aircraft will be used to operate flights SQ 318 from Singapore to London Heathrow, and the returning flight, SQ 321.

This is in addition to the current daily A380 service operated on flights SQ 322 (Singapore-London) and SQ 317 (London-Singapore). The additional service will boost the number of Singapore Airlines A380 flights between the two cities to 11 times a week, up from 7.

The increase in A380 services to London will follow the scheduled delivery of Singapore Airlines’ fifth A380 aircraft from manufacturers, Airbus, in late June 2008.

The new A380 service between Singapore and London will take effect from 16 July 2008. However, there will be a temporary break in A380 operations on SQ 318 (Singapore-London) and SQ 321 (London-Singapore) from 31 July 2008 to 9 August 2008 inclusive as the aircraft will be deployed to Beijing for a week, to cater for increased demand in the lead-up to the start of the Olympic Games.
