Most of the special fares sold in the Netherlands have cancellation fees that vary from 50% to 100%. It is therefore strongly recemmended that passengers not only purchase travel insurance (reisverzekering) but also cancellation insurance (annuleringsverzekering).

Normal travel insurance does not cover cancellation fees, if you cannot travel. For these cancellation insurance is needed (subject to conditions).
