New Security Measures - Cabin Baggage
On 31 March 2007, additional security measures were introduced. These measures affect the carriage of liquids, aerosols and gels taken on board aircraft as carry-on baggage. This applies to all international flights departing New Zealand.

The measures require that any liquids, aerosols or gels must be in containers of 100ml volume or less. All containers must fit in one re-sealable transparent plastic bag of 1 litre volume (approximately 20cm by 20cm, or 8 inches by 8 inches). Each passenger, including children, will be allowed one transparent plastic bag each.
The plastic bag will need to be presented separately from all other carry-on luggage at airport screening points.

Items that will be affected include: water and other drinks, creams, perfumes, roll-on deodorants, sprays, pastes, liquid solid mixtures - including lipsticks, face compacts and blushers, mascara and liquid eyeliner, lip gloss and lip balm and anything else that you can pour, spray or smear.

There are exemptions for personal medications, baby products and dietary supplements in liquid, aerosol or gel form. For the full details of the measures, please see the Ministry of Transport’s website www.flysmart.govt.nz

Check-In at Auckland & Christchurch
Check-in counters open three hours prior to departure and passengers are advised to check-in at least two hours prior to departure. Due to increased security measures please allow plenty of time to clear customs and security screening.

Please note that check-in counters close forty minutes prior to departure and gates close ten minutes prior to departure. We strive for on-time arrivals and departures, so please make sure you allow time to complete any duty free shopping and be at the gate at least forty minutes prior to departure for boarding.
