The City of Love
The French capital has a wealth of sights from monuments to gardens and churches to museums. Situated on the River Seine, the city lies over two banks, referred to as the Left and Right Banks. When to go - climate
Paris’ climate rarely sees extremely high or low temperatures. The coolest months of the year are January and February, and the warmest are July and August.

Cuisine
Eating in Paris is a treat, with the range and quality of dishes on offer. The French take great pride in gastronomy, and this is clear wherever you eat in Paris.
The traditional café is where the day begins, with an espresso and croissant. 

Tradtional dishes include:
- Frog legs
- Escargots (snails)
- Coq au vin (chicken cooked in red wine)
- Boeuf bourguignon (beef with onions and mushrooms cooked in red wine)
- Crêpes (a thin pancake, often filled)

To go hand in hand with the delicious food, the French also delight in their wine. With many of the world’s best varieties available, you will always have the right accompaniment handy.

Nightlife
Parisian nightlife has something for everyone, from dance clubs to smooth jazz venues. The city also has many trendy bars which are all open late. For something different, try the famous cabaret venues for their great entertainment.

Shopping
Paris is home to some of the most famous designers in the fashion industry, and consequently a large number of excellent fashion stores.
One of the most famous department stores is the Galeries Lafayette, where in addition to clothing, you can find cosmetics, toys, homeware and jewellery. Printemps Hausmann is another fantastic department store, housing fashions and an extensive beauty selection. You also can’t go past Le Bon Marché, which is Paris’ oldest retail establishment.
For delightful boutiques with truly unique items, visit the streets Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and Avenue Montaigne.

Champs-Elysées is named as one of the most beautiful streets in the world. Not only is it a great shopping strip, but it also doubles as a lovely walk between monuments, where you can enjoy the atmosphere and take a break in one of the cafés.

Recommended areas
The Quartier Latin (5th & 6th arrondissements on the Left Bank) has a lively atmostphere and contains many bistros.

Montparnasse (14th arrondissement on the Left Bankt) is a historic area famous for artists’ studios, music halls, and café life.

Montmartre (18th arrondissement, Right Bank) is where the Basilica of the Sacré Coeur is located. Montmartre has always had a history with artists and there are many studios and cafés in that area.
