When to go - climate
Copenhagen's geographical location means that the winters are long and cold, but beautiful. However, if it is sunshine you're after, the recommended months for travel are July and August.

Cuisine & Nightlife
Vesterbro and Nørrebro are great multicultural areas full of well-priced restaurants as well as shopping and nightlife. Vesterbro is particularly good for finding Asian restaurants. For the upmarket eateries, go into the city (Den Indre Byen) or Frederiksstaden. Den Indre Byen is also the home to a great selection of nightlife venues.

Like other Scandinavian countries, the traditional cuisine in Denmark consists mainly of carboyhydrates, meat and fish. It is common to see hotdog stands throughout the city - this is the Danish fast food alternative.

Shopping
Much of the best shopping in the city can be done in Den Indre Byen. If you are looking for antiques, you can't beat Frederiksstaden.
The Illum department store sells furnishings and fashion, plus contains a delicatessen. For alternative shoppers, visit the Nørre Quarter, which is better known as Pisserenden.
