Chengdu (CHINA)
The capital city of the Sichuan Province in Southwest China, Chengdu is a charming mix of modern tree-lined avenues and narrow streets of traditional, half timbered houses.

The city is filled with historical attractions like the Leshan Statue of Buddha, the largest stone carving from the Tang dynasty. Chengdu is also the natural habitat of the giant panda. You can visit them at the Chengdu Zoo and at the China Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
