Excess baggage rates for bulky items

 

Excess baggage guidelines and policies are now available for the following items, Golf equipment, SCUBA diving equipment, bicycles, surfboards, canoes and ski equipment (including snowboards).


 

a) Golf Equipment.

  1. A standard charge of 6 kg will be applied on the golfing equipment if, together with the passenger's other checked luggage, the total weight exceeds the free allowance entitled.
  2. This will apply up to a maximum excess of 15kg. After which normal excess baggage charges will apply. This means that if the total checked baggage weight, including the set comes to 30kg (ie. 10kg excess); a charge of 6kg will be levied. However, if the total baggage weight is 40kg (ie. 20kg excess), the excess baggage to be levied will be 6kg (for total weight up to 35kg plus 5kg (the balance beyond 35kg), which makes 11kg.
  3. This special charge is only applicable to one set of golf equipment per pax, and one set of golf equipment is deemed to comprise of: 1 golf bag containing not more than 14 golf clubs, a maximum of 12 golf balls, 1 pair of golf shoes and golf tees.
  4. Any additional golf sets shall be charged according to the standard excess baggage charges.

b) SCUBA Diving equipment.

  1. A standard charge of 6 kg will be applied on the SCUBA diving equipment if, together with the passenger's other checked luggage, the total weight exceeds the free allowance entitled.
  2. This will apply up to a maximum excess of 15kg, after which the normal excess baggage charges will apply.
  3. This special charge is only applicable to one set of SCUBA diving equipment per passenger and one set of SCUBA diving equipment is deemed to comprise of: a bouyancy control device, a regulator, a mask and snorkel, a pair of fins, a wet suit, a weight belt with weights, and a SCUBA diving tank (empty)
c) Bicycles.
  1. A standard charge of 6 kg will be applied on the bicycle equipment if, together with the passenger's other checked luggage, the total weight exceeds the free allowance entitled.
  2. This will apply up to a maximum excess of 15kg, after which the normal excess baggage charges will apply.
  3. This special charge is only applicable to one bicycle per customer. Any additional bicycles shall be charge according to the standard excess baggage charges. Customer has to ensure the bicycle is properly packed for transportation.

d) Surfboards.

  1. A standard charge of 6 kg will be applied on the surfboard if, together with the passenger's other checked luggage, the total weight exceeds the free allowance entitled.
  2. This will apply up to a maximum excess of 15kg, after which the normal excess baggage charges will apply.
  3. This special charge is only applicable to one bicycle per customer. Any additional surfboards shall be charge according to the standard excess baggage charges. Customer has to ensure the surfboard is properly packed for transportation.

e) Canoes.

  1. Regardless of the amount of checked baggage carried by the customer, a fixed charge of 15kg will be applied on each canoe carried.
  2. Customer has to ensure canoe is properly packed for transportation.

f) Ski and snowboard equipment.

  1. A standard charge of 3 kg will be applied on the ski equipment if, together with the passenger's other checked luggage, the total weight exceeds the free allowance entitled.
    • This will apply up to a maximum excess of 15kg, after which the normal excess baggage charges will apply.
    • This special charge is only applicable to one set of ski/snowboard equipment per passenger. One set of ski or snow board equipment is deemed to compromise; one pair of skis/snowboard, a pair of ski poles, a pair of ski/snowboard boots, a ski mask.
