Virgin Atlantic’s new check-in baggage policy

 
With effect from 25 Nov 2009, Virign Atlantic will change its check-in baggage policy from "weight" to "piece" concept across the entire network for all tickets booked from that date.*

* Flights booked and ticketed before 25 November 2009 will be entitled to Virgin Atlantic’s existing baggage allowance.

With this new policy, the extra baggage allowance for PPS Club and Elite Gold members will change from an additional 20kg to one extrapiece of luggage* (regardless of class of travel), which can weigh up to a maximum of 23 kg.

The number of bags normally allowed will vary according to class of travel and route travelled. The extra baggage allowance for PPS Club and Eilte Gold members will be 1 piece of baggage on top of the allowances in the table below :

Exceptions:
Passengers travelling in Economy between the USA and India - one additional bag at 23 kilos.
Sporting allowance - 1 additional bag up to 23 kilos irrespective of the cabin flown.
