What are the changes from 1 December 2009 ?
Presently, one-way award travel is only available on Singapore Airlines or Silkair flights. From 1 December 09, you will be able to redeem your miles for a one-way award ticket on selected Star Alliance partners and Mexicana.

What are the benefits of redeeming one-way awards ?
There will be greater flexibility to cater to your travel needs. For example :

• You can redeem your miles for one leg of your journey first, even if you are unsure of your other leg of the journey. This will save you fees which would have been levied for changes which may become necessary with a round-trip. 
• You can mix your redemption award with a purchased ticket.
• You can redeem your miles for only the leg of the award travel with a seat available first.  With the current round-trip restriction, you can only get your award ticket if  both legs of the travel are confirmed.

How do I read the revised award chart?
The chart will still be based on the number of KrisFlyer miles required for round-trip award tickets. The one-way award ticket will only require half the KrisFlyer miles for a  round-trip award ticket and is only available on selected Star Alliance partners. What are the changes to the award charts?
The charts have now been simplified to only 12 zones, as compared to the previous 14. Award levels of some zones have been revised. For more information on the number of KrisFlyer miles required on a particular travel route, please refer to the charts loaded on this webpage or use the Redemption Calculator from 1 December 09.

Why are one-way awards only available on selected Star Alliance partners?
Work is in progress to make one-way awards available on all Star Alliance carriers.

Which are the Star Carriers that will allow one-way?
They currently are Adria Airways, Air China, Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Austrian, bmi, Egyptair, Lufthansa, South African Airways, Spanair, SWISS International Airlines, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways.

Will one-way award travel be available on Virgin Atlantic?
No, one-way awards will not be available on Virgin Atlantic.
