For flights between Ahmedabad and Penang, the weight concept applies. In Economy Class, checked baggage allowances are 25kg for Lite and Value fares, and 30kg for Standard and Flexi fares. In Business Class, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg in weight.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final allowance for your journey will be indicated on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Ahmedabad to Penang once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members, though Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members, and the connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

At Singapore (SIN), eligible customers may be able to use facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin and status.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Ahmedabad but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

If you have a longer layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can join one of the airport’s official free city tours when available, typically requiring a minimum layover of around 5.5 to 6 hours. These guided trips allow you to see highlights of Singapore without managing the logistics yourself.

For shorter layovers, staying airside at Changi Airport is very comfortable, with themed gardens, quiet rest areas, and family-friendly facilities. You can also explore art installations, viewing galleries, and a wide choice of dining options between terminals.

If you prefer to rest, consider using an airport hotel, napping areas, or spa services within the terminal complex, then return refreshed for your onward flight to Penang. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Ahmedabad follows India Standard Time (IST), which is UTC+5:30 year-round. Penang follows Malaysia Time (MYT), which is UTC+8:00 and does not observe daylight saving time. Penang is therefore 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Ahmedabad throughout the year.
