A selection of hot and cold drinks is available throughout your journey, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. You can also enjoy our signature Singapore Sling on board, along with other alcoholic beverages where offered.

For flights between Chengdu and Rome, the weight concept applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class passengers have 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class passengers have 35kg, and Business Class passengers have 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final baggage allowance is stated on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members have additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Chengdu to Rome once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The service is ideal for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Chengdu–Singapore Boeing 787-10 sector, Economy Class offers a seat pitch of about 32 inches with up to 19 inches of seat width, while Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access for every seat.

On the Singapore–Rome Airbus A350-900 sector, Economy Class also offers around 32 inches of pitch and up to 19 inches of width. Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

At Singapore Changi Airport, eligible passengers may use lounges such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin class and frequent flyer status.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Chengdu but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

If you have a longer connection at Singapore Changi Airport, you can consider joining an official transit tour of the city, which usually requires at least around 5.5 to 6 hours of layover time. This lets you see highlights of Singapore before returning for your onward flight.

For shorter layovers, staying airside is convenient and comfortable. Changi Airport offers themed gardens, quiet rest zones, nap areas, play spaces, and art installations, as well as transit hotels where you can book a room to rest between flights.

Chengdu follows China Standard Time (CST), which is UTC+8 all year. Rome follows Central European Time (CET), which is UTC+1 in winter, and Central European Summer Time (CEST), which is UTC+2 from late March to late October. This means Rome is 7 hours behind Chengdu in winter, and 6 hours behind in summer.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Rome is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
