For flights between Amsterdam and Kathmandu, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (25kg on Lite/Value fares, 30kg on Standard/Flexi), Premium Economy Class (35kg), and Business Class (40kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: one piece up to 7kg in Economy Class and Premium Economy Class, and two pieces each up to 7kg in Business Class. Your final allowance is confirmed on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Amsterdam–Singapore sector operated by the Airbus A350-900, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, Premium Economy Class provides a 38-inch pitch with up to 20-inch seat width, and Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access. On the Singapore–Kathmandu sector operated by the Boeing 737-8 MAX, Economy Class offers comparable comfort and legroom suitable for a regional flight, while Business Class provides a larger seat that converts into a reclined position with additional space for working or resting.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available. Eligible passengers may be able to use the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin and status.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The Next Segment Rule
Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Amsterdam but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport offers extensive amenities for both short and longer layovers. If you have at least 5.5 to 6 hours between flights, you can consider joining one of the official transit tours into the city, subject to eligibility and timing. For shorter stays, you can enjoy airport attractions such as indoor gardens, rest zones, play areas, and aviation-themed spaces located across the terminals. There are also transit hotels, shower facilities, and a wide range of dining and shopping options within the secure area. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Amsterdam follows Central European Time (UTC+1) in winter and Central European Summer Time (UTC+2) from late March to late October. Kathmandu uses Nepal Time (UTC+5:45) all year. This means Kathmandu is 4 hours 45 minutes ahead of Amsterdam in winter, and 3 hours 45 minutes ahead during Amsterdam’s summer time.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu when flying from Amsterdam via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary
Both flight segments (Amsterdam–Singapore and Singapore–Kathmandu) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration
Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines
If your onward flight from Singapore to Kathmandu is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
