Pre-monsoon heat (shoulder season): From March to early June, temperatures rise, especially in inland cities such as Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru, where daytime highs can reach 30–40 °C (86–104 °F). Coastal cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi, and Kolkata are hot and humid but often moderated slightly by sea breezes. Monsoon and late monsoon (low season): From June to October, most regions experience monsoon rains, strongest along the west coast near Mumbai and Kochi and in parts of eastern India such as Kolkata, with temperatures around 24–32 °C (75–90 °F) and high humidity, while occasional heavy showers also affect inland cities.
