For flights between Yangon and Cairns, the weight concept applies. In Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. In Business Class, you can check up to 40kg of baggage. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The exact allowance for your trip is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Yangon to Cairns once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members, although Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Yangon–Singapore Boeing 737-8 MAX sector and the Singapore–Cairns Airbus A350-900 sector, Economy Class seats offer a pitch of about 32 inches, with seat widths of up to 19 inches. This provides comfortable legroom for the journey.

At Singapore Changi Airport, eligible passengers may relax in facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin and status.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Yangon but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

If you have a longer layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can consider joining the official transit tour into the city, which typically requires at least around 5.5 to 6 hours of connection time. This lets you see highlights of Singapore before returning comfortably for your onward flight.

For shorter layovers, staying airside is very relaxing. Changi Airport offers themed gardens, quiet rest areas, art installations, and children’s play zones, as well as a wide choice of dining and shopping. Some terminals also feature facilities such as nap areas and pay-per-use lounges.

If you prefer extra rest, you can book an airport hotel or a short-stay room within the terminal buildings, subject to availability. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Yangon follows Myanmar Time (MMT), which is UTC+6:30 and does not observe daylight saving time. Cairns follows Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), which is UTC+10:00 and also does not use daylight saving time. Cairns is therefore 3.5 hours ahead of Yangon throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Yangon–Singapore and Singapore–Cairns) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Cairns is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
