For flights between Male and Shenzhen, our weight-concept baggage policy applies. In Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 25kg for Lite and Value fares, and 30kg for Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class passengers have a checked baggage allowance of 35kg, and Business Class passengers enjoy 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your exact allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members are entitled to additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet on eligible services between Male, Singapore, and Shenzhen. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 737-8 MAX sectors, Economy Class offers a seat pitch of around 32 inches and up to 19 inches of seat width for comfortable legroom. Premium Economy Class, available on selected Airbus A350-900 services between Male and Singapore, provides about 38 inches of pitch and up to 20 inches of seat width. Business Class on both aircraft features a fully flat bed with generous personal space and direct aisle access on the Airbus A350-900, and spacious recline seats or lie-flat style seating with ample legroom on the Boeing 737-8 MAX.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Male but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

For shorter layovers, you may prefer to remain airside and explore the airport’s many amenities, including gardens, rest areas, and relaxation zones. Male operates on Maldives Time (UTC+5) and does not observe daylight saving time. Shenzhen follows China Standard Time (UTC+8), also without daylight saving time. This means Shenzhen is consistently 3 hours ahead of Male throughout the year, so when it is 12.00pm in Male, it is 3.00pm in Shenzhen.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Shenzhen when flying from Male via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Male–Singapore and Singapore–Shenzhen) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Shenzhen is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
