For flights between Mumbai and Cairns, the weight-concept baggage policy applies. In Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. In Premium Economy Class, where offered on the Mumbai–Singapore sector, the checked baggage allowance is 35kg. In Business Class, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class and Suites passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights between Mumbai and Cairns once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans on board. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Mumbai–Singapore and Singapore–Cairns sectors, Economy Class seats typically offer a 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width. Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available. Eligible customers may be able to use the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge during their transit.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The Next Segment Rule
Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Mumbai but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

At Singapore Changi Airport, longer layovers can include joining the airport’s official transit tour into the city, which typically requires at least a 5.5-hour connection to allow for immigration and touring time. For shorter layovers, you can stay airside and enjoy themed gardens, rest zones, art installations, and a wide choice of dining and shopping in the terminals. Depending on your terminal, you may also find facilities such as swimming pools, entertainment areas, and transit hotels to rest between flights. Mumbai operates on India Standard Time (UTC+5:30) all year. Cairns follows Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC+10) and does not observe daylight saving. This means Cairns is 4 hours 30 minutes ahead of Mumbai throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary
Both flight segments (Mumbai–Singapore and Singapore–Cairns) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration
Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines
If your onward flight from Singapore to Cairns is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
