Beverage Service
Throughout the journey, you can enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, including juices, soft drinks, and hot beverages. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board, alongside a curated list of other alcoholic beverages.

For flights between Phuket and Johannesburg, the weight concept applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class passengers can bring 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class passengers on the Singapore–Johannesburg sector have an allowance of 35kg, and Business Class passengers on both sectors may check 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your exact allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. KrisFlyer members enjoy free and unlimited Wi-Fi; if you are travelling in Economy Class or Premium Economy Class, please ensure your KrisFlyer number is added to your booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can choose from paid plans.

The connection is ideal for messaging, email, and basic browsing. It does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers, so we recommend downloading any heavy content before your flight.

On the Phuket–Singapore sector operated by the Boeing 737-8 MAX, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, while Business Class provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access.

On the Singapore–Johannesburg sector on the Airbus A350-900, Economy Class also offers a 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width. Premium Economy Class provides a 38-inch pitch and up to 20-inch seat width, and Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access for every seat.

Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Eligible customers may be able to use facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at Singapore Changi Airport, depending on cabin and status.

Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Phuket but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport offers a wide range of amenities, from indoor gardens and relaxation zones to children’s play areas and transit hotels, making it comfortable to stay airside between flights. For shorter layovers, you can explore the terminals, enjoy a meal, or simply rest in one of the quiet areas.

If your layover is at least 5.5 hours, you can consider joining one of the official free transit tours, which take you into the city for a brief introduction to Singapore’s highlights before returning you to the airport. Check availability and requirements when you arrive.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Phuket–Singapore and Singapore–Johannesburg) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Johannesburg is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
