Book the Cook
On eligible flights in Business Class between Taipei, Singapore, and Kolkata, you can pre-select your main course from our Book the Cook service. Choose from a curated menu before you fly so your preferred dish is reserved for you.

Beverage Service
Throughout the journey, you can enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee, as well as alcoholic beverages where available. Our signature Singapore Sling is also served on board.

For Taipei–Kolkata flights, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (25kg on Lite/Value fares, 30kg on Standard/Flexi fares) and Business Class (40kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class (1 piece up to 7kg) and Business Class (2 pieces, each up to 7kg). Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on board once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet on this route. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Taipei–Singapore and Singapore–Kolkata sectors, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, providing comfortable legroom. Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access from every seat, giving you ample personal space to work, dine, and rest.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Taipei but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

In Singapore (SIN), eligible customers may be invited to relax in facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on their cabin and status.

If you have enough time between flights, you can join the free Singapore city tour from Singapore Changi Airport, which typically requires a layover of at least 5.5 to 6 hours. It is a convenient way to see highlights of the city without managing your own transport.

For shorter layovers, staying airside at Changi Airport is very comfortable, with themed gardens, rest zones, art installations, and play areas for families. You can also freshen up with shower facilities or rest at transit hotels inside the terminals.

There are many dining outlets, shops, and quiet seating areas throughout the terminals, so you can tailor the layover to how you feel on the day, whether that is relaxing, browsing, or stretching your legs. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Taipei follows Taiwan Standard Time (UTC+8) and does not observe daylight saving time. Kolkata follows India Standard Time (UTC+5:30) and also does not observe daylight saving. This means Kolkata is 2.5 hours behind Taipei throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Taipei–Singapore and Singapore–Kolkata) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Kolkata is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
