For Yangon to Penang flights, our weight concept applies. In Economy Class, checked baggage allowances are 25kg for Lite and Value fares, and 30kg for Standard and Flexi fares. In Business Class, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring one piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring two pieces, each up to 7kg. Your exact allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Yangon to Penang once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. Eligible passengers may be able to access facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin and status.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Yangon but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport is well suited for both short and longer layovers. For transits of at least 5.5–6 hours, you can consider joining an official transit tour to see highlights of the city without handling your checked baggage. This offers a change of scenery between flights.

For shorter layovers, staying airside lets you enjoy themed gardens, relaxation zones, and quiet seating areas across the terminals. You can also explore playgrounds, art installations, and a wide selection of dining outlets and shops.

If you prefer more privacy, airport hotels and rest areas within or near the terminals provide comfortable places to refresh, shower, or sleep. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Yangon operates on Myanmar Time (MMT), which is UTC+6:30, and does not observe daylight saving time. Penang follows Malaysia Time (MYT), which is UTC+8:00, also without daylight saving. Penang is therefore 1 hour 30 minutes ahead of Yangon throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Yangon–Singapore and Singapore–Penang) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Penang is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
