Beverage Service
Throughout your journey, a variety of hot and cold drinks is available, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board, offering a distinctive taste of our heritage during your flight.

For flights between Cairns and Colombo, the weight concept applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class customers have an allowance of 25kg on Lite and Value fares and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Business Class customers enjoy a 40kg checked baggage allowance. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class customers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class customers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final baggage allowance for your trip will be shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members have additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Cairns to Colombo once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class members must add their KrisFlyer number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Cairns but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport offers extensive amenities that make layovers comfortable and enjoyable. If you have at least 5.5 to 6 hours, you may join an official free transit tour into the city, subject to eligibility and timing, to see key highlights before returning for your onward flight.

For shorter layovers, stay airside and enjoy themed gardens, quiet rest areas, and dedicated snooze zones. Selected terminals also feature attractions such as indoor waterfalls, art installations, and children’s play spaces, giving you ways to stretch your legs between sectors.

If you prefer to rest, consider an airport hotel, spa, or shower facility within the transit area. Dining options range from quick snacks to sit-down meals, helping you recharge before boarding. Cairns follows Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC+10) and does not observe daylight saving time. Colombo follows Sri Lanka Standard Time (UTC+5:30) all year. This means Colombo is 4.5 hours behind Cairns throughout the year, regardless of the month you travel.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo) when flying from Cairns via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Cairns–Singapore and Singapore–Colombo) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.
