For flights between Colombo and Perth, our weight-concept baggage policy applies. In Economy Class, you can check 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. In Business Class, your checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your exact allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances on top of the standard limits.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Colombo to Perth once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Business Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure to enjoy this. Non-members can purchase access plans on board.

The connection is ideal for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Colombo but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

If you have a longer layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can consider joining an official transit tour into the city, which generally requires a minimum layover of around 5.5 to 6 hours and meeting the programme’s eligibility conditions. This lets you see highlights of Singapore between your flights.

For shorter layovers, staying airside is very comfortable, with themed gardens, quiet rest areas, play zones, and relaxation spaces available across the terminals. You can also enjoy a wide choice of dining outlets and retail stores without leaving the secure area.

Should you prefer to rest, airport hotels and nap facilities in or near the terminals offer a place to refresh before your onward flight. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Colombo operates on Sri Lanka Time (UTC+5:30) all year. Perth uses Australian Western Standard Time (UTC+8) and does not observe daylight saving. This means Perth is 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Colombo throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Colombo–Singapore and Singapore–Perth) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Perth is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
