Beverage Service
Throughout your journey, a selection of hot and cold drinks is available, including juices, soft drinks, coffee, and tea. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board to enhance your experience.

For flights between Amsterdam and Medan, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (25kg on Lite/Value fares, 30kg on Standard/Flexi fares), Premium Economy Class (35kg), and Business Class (40kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class and Premium Economy Class (1 piece up to 7kg), and Business Class (2 pieces, each up to 7kg). The final allowance for your journey is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on board once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Amsterdam–Singapore sector, Economy Class offers a 32-inch seat pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, Premium Economy Class offers a 38-inch pitch with up to 20-inch seat width, and Business Class provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access. On the Singapore–Medan sector, Economy Class offers a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, while Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Amsterdam but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore, eligible customers can use facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

Singapore Changi Airport offers extensive facilities to make your layover comfortable and enjoyable. If you have at least 5.5 to 6 hours of transit time, you may consider joining the airport’s official free city tour, which lets you see highlights of Singapore without managing your own arrangements.

For shorter layovers, staying airside is very convenient, with themed gardens, quiet rest areas, children’s play zones, and a wide choice of dining and shopping. Some terminals also feature entertainment zones and relaxation corners where you can unwind between flights.

If you prefer extra rest, you can look for airport hotels or pay-per-use lounges with showers and nap areas, which can be particularly helpful on overnight connections. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Amsterdam follows Central European Time (UTC+1) in winter and Central European Summer Time (UTC+2) from late March to late October. Medan follows Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7) all year. This means Medan is 6 hours ahead of Amsterdam in winter, and 5 hours ahead during Amsterdam’s summer time.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Medan is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
