Please note that no meal service is provided for Economy Class passengers on the Singapore–Penang segment due to the short flight time.

For Istanbul–Penang flights, the weight concept applies. In Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 25kg for Lite and Value fares, and 30kg for Standard and Flexi fares. In Premium Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 35kg. In Business Class, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class customers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Istanbul to Penang once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members, with Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers required to add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Istanbul–Singapore Airbus A350-900 sector, Economy Class offers a 32-inch seat pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, Premium Economy Class offers a 38-inch pitch with up to 20-inch seat width, and Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access. On the Singapore–Penang Boeing 737-8 MAX sector, Economy Class offers similar legroom to our standard regional configuration, while Business Class provides a fully flat bed-style seat with ample space for relaxing on the shorter flight.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available. Eligible customers may be invited to lounges such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Istanbul but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

At Singapore Changi Airport, you can enjoy themed gardens, art installations, rest areas, and a wide choice of dining and shopping without leaving the terminal. With a longer layover, you can consider the official free city tour, which usually requires at least 5.5 to 6 hours between flights. For shorter connections, staying airside lets you make use of quiet zones, play areas, and, in some terminals, facilities such as nap areas or transit hotels for rest and a shower. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Istanbul operates on Turkey Time (TRT), which is UTC+3 all year. Penang follows Malaysia Time (MYT), which is UTC+8 year-round. This means Penang is 5 hours ahead of Istanbul at all times of the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Istanbul–Singapore and Singapore–Penang) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Penang is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
