Throughout the flight, a selection of hot and cold drinks is available, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Our signature Singapore Sling is also offered on board, so you can enjoy a classic drink as you travel.

For flights between Kathmandu and Xiamen, the weight concept applies. In Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 25kg for Lite and Value fares, and 30kg for Standard and Flexi fares. In Business Class, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg in weight.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The exact allowance for your journey will be stated on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. KrisFlyer members enjoy free and unlimited Wi-Fi; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans on board. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Kathmandu–Singapore and Singapore–Xiamen sectors operated by the Boeing 737-8 MAX, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width, providing good comfort for the journey. Business Class offers a fully flat bed on this route, giving you ample space to rest and arrive refreshed.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

At Singapore Changi Airport, eligible customers may relax in facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, subject to their eligibility and the terminal in use.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Kathmandu but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport offers a wide range of ways to spend your layover comfortably, from themed gardens and art installations to dedicated rest areas and snooze lounges. If your layover is at least 5.5 hours and you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be able to join an official free city tour to see highlights of Singapore.

For shorter layovers, you can stay airside and explore the terminals, where you will find children’s play areas, quiet corners for work or rest, and a broad choice of dining outlets. Some terminals also feature attractions such as indoor gardens and entertainment zones, offering a pleasant break between flights.

If you prefer more privacy, consider booking an airport hotel or pay-per-use lounge within the terminal complex for a shower and rest. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Kathmandu follows Nepal Time (UTC+5:45) all year. Xiamen follows China Standard Time (UTC+8:00) and does not observe daylight saving time. Xiamen is therefore 2 hours 15 minutes ahead of Kathmandu throughout the year, regardless of the month you travel.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Xiamen when flying from Kathmandu via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Kathmandu–Singapore and Singapore–Xiamen) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Xiamen is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
