Beverage Service
Across both sectors, you can enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Our signature Singapore Sling is available on board, along with a choice of other alcoholic beverages for those who wish to enjoy a drink during the flight.

For flights between Beijing and Colombo, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (25kg on Lite and Value fares, 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares), Premium Economy Class (35kg), Business Class (40kg), and First Class (50kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class and Premium Economy Class may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class and First Class may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Beijing to Colombo once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Beijing but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

In Singapore Changi Airport, eligible customers may be invited to The Private Room, SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin and status.

If you have at least 5.5–6 hours between flights, you may consider joining one of Singapore Changi Airport’s official transit tours, which take you into the city to see key landmarks before returning in time for your connection. Be sure to check eligibility and registration details in advance.

For shorter layovers, staying airside offers plenty of ways to relax, with themed gardens, quiet rest areas, children’s play zones, art installations, and in some terminals, facilities such as cinemas or a pool. You can also enjoy a wide range of dining options and retail outlets.

If you prefer privacy, you may look for transit hotels or pay-per-use lounges to rest, shower, or work between flights. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Beijing follows China Standard Time, which is UTC+8 all year and does not observe daylight saving time. Colombo operates on Sri Lanka Standard Time, which is UTC+5:30 and also does not change seasonally. Colombo is therefore 2.5 hours behind Beijing throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Beijing–Singapore and Singapore–Colombo) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Colombo is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
