Please note that no meal service is provided for Economy Class passengers on the Singapore–Penang segment due to the short flight time.

For flights between Osaka and Penang, our weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are 25kg for Economy Class Lite and Value fares and 30kg for Economy Class Standard and Flexi fares, 40kg for Business Class. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final baggage allowance for your trip is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights on this route once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans on board. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Osaka–Singapore and Singapore–Penang sectors, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, providing comfortable space for regional travel. Business Class features a fully flat bed with generous width, along with direct aisle access on the Boeing 787-10 and a spacious layout on the Boeing 737-8 MAX.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Eligible customers may relax in facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at Singapore Changi Airport.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Osaka but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

If you have at least 5.5 to 6 hours between flights, you may be able to join one of Singapore Changi Airport's official transit tours, which take you into the city to see key sights before returning in time for your connection. Check eligibility and timings when you book or on arrival.

For shorter layovers, staying airside at Changi Airport is very comfortable, with themed gardens, quiet rest areas, snooze zones, and in selected terminals, attractions such as indoor slides and play spaces. You can also take advantage of shower facilities and airport hotels if you need deeper rest.

Osaka follows Japan Standard Time (JST), which is UTC+9 and does not observe daylight saving time. Penang follows Malaysia Time (MYT), which is UTC+8 and also does not change during the year. This means Penang is 1 hour behind Osaka at all times.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Penang is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
