Beverage Service
Throughout your journey, you can enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. A range of alcoholic beverages is also available, and our signature Singapore Sling is served on board for you to savour during your flight.

For flights between Shanghai and Kochi, the weight-concept baggage policy applies. In Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class offers 35kg, Business Class 40kg, and First Class 50kg of checked baggage. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. First Class and Business Class customers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final allowance shown on your e-ticket is the one that applies, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on most Singapore Airlines services on the Shanghai–Singapore and Singapore–Kochi route once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Shanghai–Singapore sector, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, Premium Economy Class seats have a 38-inch pitch with up to 20-inch seat width, Business Class provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access, and First Class offers a fully flat bed in a spacious suite-style environment.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Shanghai but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore (SIN), eligible customers may be invited to The Private Room, SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on their cabin and status.

If you have a longer layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can join one of the official free transit tours into the city, available for passengers with sufficient connection time, usually from around 5.5 to 6 hours or more between flights. These guided tours let you see highlights of Singapore without managing your own logistics.

For shorter layovers, staying airside is very comfortable, with themed gardens, relaxation zones, and entertainment areas spread across the terminals. You can also enjoy airport attractions such as quiet rest areas, play zones, and curated art installations to stretch your legs between flights.

If you prefer more privacy, consider an airport hotel or paid lounge for a shower and a nap before your onward flight to Kochi. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it's an integral part of your journey.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Kochi is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
