Beverage Service
A selection of hot and cold drinks is available throughout the flight, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board if you would like a classic taste of our heritage.

For flights between Shenzhen and Colombo, our baggage policy follows the weight concept. In Economy Class, checked baggage allowances range from 25kg on Lite and Value fares to 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. In Business Class, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final baggage allowance for your journey will be shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Shenzhen to Colombo once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure for complimentary access. Non-members can purchase access plans on board.

The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing. It does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers, so we recommend downloading any heavy content before your flight.

On both the Shenzhen–Singapore and Singapore–Colombo sectors, Economy Class offers a seat pitch of around 32 inches with up to 19 inches of seat width, giving you comfortable legroom for the journey.

Business Class on both segments provides a fully flat bed with generous personal space. Every seat has direct aisle access on the Airbus A350-900 sector between Singapore and Colombo, helping you rest more fully on the regional flight.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Eligible customers may be able to access facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge during their transit, depending on cabin class and frequent flyer status.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Shenzhen but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport offers a wide range of facilities that make transit time comfortable and engaging. For longer layovers of around 5.5 hours or more, you can consider joining an official transit tour into the city, subject to eligibility and schedule.

For shorter layovers, staying airside is very convenient. You can explore themed gardens, quiet rest areas, and relaxation zones, or visit one of the airport hotels if you prefer a private room and shower.

There are also numerous dining options and shopping areas spread across the terminals, so you can enjoy a meal, pick up last-minute items, or simply walk around to stretch your legs. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Shenzhen follows China Standard Time, which is UTC+8 throughout the year and does not observe daylight saving time. Colombo operates on Sri Lanka Standard Time, which is UTC+5:30 year-round. Colombo is therefore 2.5 hours behind Shenzhen at all times.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) when flying from Shenzhen via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Shenzhen–Singapore and Singapore–Colombo) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Colombo is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.

You may be able to plan a stopover in Singapore on your Shenzhen–Colombo trip, subject to your ticket conditions and availability.
