For flights between Johannesburg and Surabaya, the weight concept applies. In Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. In Premium Economy Class on the Johannesburg–Singapore sector, the checked baggage allowance is 35kg. In Business Class on both sectors, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class customers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Johannesburg to Surabaya once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The service is ideal for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Johannesburg but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore (SIN), eligible customers may be able to use facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on their eligibility.

At Singapore Changi Airport, longer layovers can be enhanced with the official free city tour programmes, which usually require at least 5.5 to 6 hours of transit time. These tours allow you to see highlights of Singapore without arranging your own transport. For shorter layovers, the airport itself offers indoor gardens, rest areas, entertainment zones, and transit hotels where you can refresh or sleep between flights.
