You will be served meals on both the Surabaya–Singapore and Singapore–Istanbul sectors, with menus designed to suit the time of day and length of each flight, including a more extensive service on the long-haul leg.

Book the Cook
Eligible customers in selected cabins departing from Singapore can pre-order from our Book the Cook service, choosing from a curated menu of main courses to be served on board on the long-haul sector.

Beverage Service
Throughout your journey, you can enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, including juices, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and a range of alcoholic beverages. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board.

For flights between Surabaya and Istanbul, the weight concept applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 35kg, and Business Class passengers may bring 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final baggage allowance for your trip will be shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines aircraft operating between Surabaya, Singapore, and Istanbul once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Surabaya–Singapore sector, Business Class seats convert into fully flat beds with direct aisle access, while Economy Class offers a 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width. On the Singapore–Istanbul sector, Business Class also features fully flat beds with direct aisle access, Premium Economy Class offers a 38-inch pitch with up to 20-inch seat width, and Economy Class provides a 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. At Singapore Changi Airport, eligible customers may be able to use the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Surabaya but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport offers a wide range of ways to relax and explore during your layover between Surabaya and Istanbul. For longer transits of around 5.5 hours or more, you can consider the official free Changi transit tour, which lets you see highlights of Singapore before returning to the airport.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Surabaya–Singapore and Singapore–Istanbul) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Istanbul is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.

You may be able to plan a stopover in Singapore on your Surabaya–Istanbul trip, subject to your ticket conditions and availability.
