For flights between Kathmandu and Frankfurt, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares; Premium Economy Class 35kg; Business Class 40kg; First Class 50kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class and Premium Economy Class may bring 1 piece up to 7kg; Business Class and First Class may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can choose from paid plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Kathmandu–Singapore sector operated by the Boeing 737-8 MAX, Economy Class offers a seat pitch of about 32 inches and up to 19 inches of seat width, while Business Class features a fully flat bed with generous personal space. On the Singapore–Frankfurt sector on the Boeing 777-300ER, Economy Class provides around 32 inches of pitch and up to 19 inches of width, Premium Economy Class offers about 38 inches of pitch and up to 20 inches of width, and Business Class and First Class both feature fully flat beds for added comfort on the long-haul flight.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The Next Segment Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Kathmandu but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore, eligible passengers may be invited to The Private Room, the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), the SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on their cabin and status.

Singapore Changi Airport is designed for comfortable transits, with themed gardens, quiet rest areas, and a wide range of dining and shopping options within the terminals. If you have at least 5.5 to 6 hours between flights, you may consider joining an official transit tour into the city, subject to eligibility and schedules. For shorter layovers, you can enjoy amenities such as relaxation zones, children’s play areas, and walking through indoor garden spaces without leaving the airport. Frankfurt follows Central European Time (UTC+1) in roughly late October to late March, and Central European Summer Time (UTC+2) from late March to late October. Frankfurt is usually 4 hours 15 minutes behind Kathmandu in winter, and 3 hours 15 minutes behind in summer.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Frankfurt Airport when flying from Kathmandu via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Kathmandu–Singapore and Singapore–Frankfurt) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Frankfurt is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
