Best time to visit Sri Lanka
Peak season: December to March is generally the driest period for the west and south coasts, with coastal daytime temperatures around 27–31°C (81–88°F). This is popular for beach stays and hill country visits.
Shoulder season: April to early May and July to August bring mixed weather, with sunshine and short showers across many regions, and temperatures between 26–30°C (79–86°F). These months can be a good balance of fewer crowds and pleasant conditions.
Low season: May to June and October to November see heavier rains in some parts of the island, especially on the south-west side, with temperatures around 25–29°C (77–84°F). You may still find good weather on the east coast, but should plan with flexibility.
