For flights between Colombo and Cairns, our weight-concept baggage policy applies. In Economy Class, your checked baggage allowance is 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. In Business Class, your checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance will be shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on most Singapore Airlines aircraft on the Colombo–Singapore and Singapore–Cairns sectors once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure.

Non-members can purchase paid plans on board. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Colombo–Singapore and Singapore–Cairns sectors, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, providing good comfort for the journey. Business Class features a fully flat bed with generous personal space and direct aisle access on these services.

Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Colombo but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore, eligible customers may be invited to use lounges such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

With a layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can enjoy lush indoor gardens, themed rest areas, playgrounds, and a variety of dining and shopping options without leaving the terminal. For longer layovers, you may join an official city tour, which generally requires several hours between flights.

If you prefer to stay airside, you will find quiet zones, snooze areas, and airport hotels where you can rest, as well as walking trails and viewing decks for stretching your legs. Families will appreciate play spaces and entertainment zones spread across the terminals.

Colombo operates on Sri Lanka Standard Time (UTC+5:30) year-round and does not observe daylight saving time. Cairns follows Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC+10) and also does not observe daylight saving. Cairns is therefore 4 hours 30 minutes ahead of Colombo throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Colombo–Singapore and Singapore–Cairns) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Cairns is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
