For journeys between Christchurch and Los Angeles, the piece concept applies for checked baggage. For Economy Class, you may check in 2 pieces, each up to 23kg. For Premium Economy Class, you may check in 2 pieces, each up to 23kg. For Business Class, you may check in 2 pieces, each up to 32kg. Each individual checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class customers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Christchurch to Los Angeles once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The Next Segment Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Christchurch but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

If your layover in Singapore is long enough, you can join one of the official transit tours that take you into the city, typically requiring at least around 5.5 to 6 hours between flights. These tours offer a glimpse of Singapores skyline, waterfront, and key districts before you return to the airport. For shorter layovers, staying airside at Singapore Changi Airport is very comfortable, with themed gardens, relaxation areas, quiet zones, and a wide range of dining options. Los Angeles uses Pacific Standard Time (UTC−8) and Pacific Daylight Time (UTC−7) from roughly March to early November. The time difference therefore ranges between 19 and 21 hours, depending on the time of year.
