For flights between Bengaluru and Penang, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (Lite and Value fares: 25kg; Standard and Flexi: 30kg), Premium Economy Class (35kg), and Business Class (40kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class and Premium Economy Class (1 piece, up to 7kg), and Business Class (2 pieces, each up to 7kg). The final allowance shown on your e-ticket is based on your specific itinerary and fare conditions, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members have additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights on this route once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Bengaluru–Singapore sector operated by the Airbus A350-900, Economy Class seats offer around 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, Premium Economy Class offers about 38-inch pitch with up to 20-inch seat width, and Business Class provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access.

Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

With a layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can consider joining the airports free transit tour if your connection time is long enough, typically at least 5.5 to 6 hours. For shorter layovers, you can enjoy indoor gardens, rest areas, play zones, and a wide range of dining and shopping options within the terminals. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

At Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport (BLR), eligible Singapore Airlines passengers may be invited to use the 080 International Lounge before departure. During your layover at Singapore Changi Airport, eligible passengers can access facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin class and frequent flyer status.

Bengaluru follows India Standard Time (UTC+5:30) all year round, while Penang follows Malaysia Time (UTC+8) without daylight saving. Penang is therefore 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Bengaluru throughout the year.

We recommend arriving at Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport at least 3 hours before your scheduled departure time for flights to Penang via Singapore. This allows enough time for check-in, security screening, and immigration, especially during busy travel periods.
