Please note that no meal service is provided for Economy Class passengers on the Singapore–Kuala Lumpur segment due to the short flight time.

For flights between Colombo and Kuala Lumpur, our weight-concept baggage policy applies. In Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. In Business Class, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class customers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class customers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final allowance for your trip will be shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Colombo to Kuala Lumpur once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Business Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Colombo–Singapore sector, operated by the Airbus A350-900 or Boeing 787-10, Economy Class seats offer a pitch of about 32 inches and up to 19 inches of seat width, while Business Class provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access.

On the Singapore–Kuala Lumpur sector, operated by the Boeing 737-8 MAX, Economy Class also offers around 32 inches of pitch and up to 19 inches of width, and Business Class features seats that convert into a fully flat bed with direct aisle access.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Singapore Changi Airport offers extensive facilities for transit passengers, including themed gardens, relaxation zones, entertainment areas, and a wide choice of dining and shopping. For longer layovers, you can join the official Free Singapore Tour, which usually requires at least around 5.5 to 6 hours between flights. For shorter connections, staying airside lets you rest, freshen up, or explore the terminals at your own pace. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

When departing from Colombo for your journey to Kuala Lumpur, eligible Singapore Airlines customers may be invited to relax in partner lounges such as the AASL Lotus Lounge or the Araliya Lounge at Bandaranaike International Airport, depending on cabin class and frequent flyer status.

During your layover at Singapore Changi Airport, eligible customers may have access to the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin class and KrisFlyer or Star Alliance status. Access is determined by your onward boarding pass and membership tier.

Colombo operates on Sri Lanka Standard Time (UTC+5:30) all year. Kuala Lumpur uses Malaysia Time (UTC+8) and does not observe daylight saving time. This means Kuala Lumpur is 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Colombo throughout the year.

We recommend arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport at least 3 hours before your scheduled departure to Kuala Lumpur. This allows enough time for check-in, security, and immigration, as well as a relaxed visit to the departure area before boarding your flight to Singapore.

Transit visa requirements depend on your nationality and travel documents. Many travellers do not need a visa for airside transit at Singapore Changi Airport, but some do. We recommend checking with the relevant immigration authorities or your local embassy before you travel.

On arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, you will clear immigration, collect your checked baggage, and pass through customs before heading into the arrivals hall.
