For flights between Shanghai and Riyadh, our weight-concept baggage policy applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 25kg on Lite and Value fares, or 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class passengers on eligible Shanghai–Singapore Boeing 777-300ER services may bring 35kg, and Business Class passengers may bring 40kg. First Class passengers on eligible Shanghai–Singapore Boeing 777-300ER services may bring 50kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class and First Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final allowance for your trip is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on most Singapore Airlines flights on this route once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. Wi-Fi is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Shanghai–Singapore sector operated by the Boeing 787-10 and Airbus A350-900, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, and Business Class features fully flat beds with direct aisle access. On selected Boeing 777-300ER services on this sector, Economy Class offers similar legroom, Premium Economy Class provides a 38-inch pitch and up to 20-inch seat width, Business Class offers fully flat beds with direct aisle access, and First Class offers a spacious fully flat bed.

On the Singapore–Riyadh sector, operated by the Airbus A350-900, Economy Class seats provide a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, while Business Class offers fully flat beds with direct aisle access for every seat.

On both sectors of the journey you can enjoy our KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system, offering a wide selection of films, TV programmes, music, and games. The system is available from shortly after take-off until close to landing, allowing you to personalise your entertainment throughout the trip.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

With a layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can make the most of its extensive airside facilities. For longer connections, consider joining the official Free Singapore Tour, which typically requires at least about 5.5 to 6 hours of transit time. For shorter stays, you can enjoy themed gardens, rest areas, and a variety of dining and shopping options without leaving the terminal.

If you are eligible for lounge access, you can relax, refresh, and catch up on work or rest in a quiet environment between flights. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

When departing from Shanghai Pudong, eligible Singapore Airlines passengers may be invited to use partner lounges such as the Air China Lounge or China Eastern Lounge, depending on cabin class and frequent flyer status. During your layover at Singapore Changi Airport, eligible passengers may have access to facilities including The Private Room, the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), the SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, based on the onward sector and individual eligibility.

For most itineraries ticketed with Singapore Airlines from Shanghai to Riyadh on a single booking, we check your baggage through to Riyadh at Shanghai Pudong, so you do not need to collect it in Singapore. Your baggage tags and boarding passes will confirm this at check-in, and our ground staff will advise you if anything differs for your specific journey.

Shanghai follows China Standard Time (UTC+8) all year. Riyadh follows Arabia Standard Time (UTC+3) and does not observe daylight saving time. This means Riyadh is 5 hours behind Shanghai throughout the year, so when it is 12.00pm in Shanghai, it is 07.00am in Riyadh.

Visa and entry requirements depend on your nationality, purpose of visit, and length of stay. We recommend that you check with the relevant embassy or official government website before you travel from Shanghai to Riyadh, and ensure your passport and documents meet the latest requirements.

For Singapore Airlines flights from Shanghai Pudong to Riyadh via Singapore, we recommend arriving at the airport at least 3 hours before your scheduled departure time. This allows enough time for check-in, security, and immigration formalities, especially during busy travel periods.

When you connect in Singapore, follow the transfer signs on arrival and check the flight information screens for your Riyadh gate and terminal. If your bags are checked through, you can remain airside. Our ground staff and transfer desks are available to assist with directions or any questions about your connection.

If your layover is long enough and you meet entry requirements for Singapore, you may choose to leave the airport. However, you should allow sufficient time for immigration, transport, and security screening when returning for your flight to Riyadh. Always check your boarding pass and local regulations before deciding.
