Please note that no meal service is provided for Economy Class passengers on the Singapore–Penang segment due to the short flight time.

For this route, our weight-concept baggage policy applies. In Economy Class, your checked baggage allowance is 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class on the Zurich–Singapore sector includes 35kg of checked baggage.

If you are travelling in Business Class, your checked baggage allowance is 40kg. In First Class on the Zurich–Singapore sector, your checked baggage allowance is 50kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class guests may bring one piece up to 7kg. First Class and Business Class guests may bring two pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on board once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans.

The service is designed for messaging, email, and basic browsing. It does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers, so you can stay connected while we maintain a comfortable experience for everyone on board.

On both sectors, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, giving you a comfortable amount of space to relax. On the Zurich–Singapore sector, Premium Economy Class offers a 38-inch pitch and up to 20-inch seat width.

Business Class on the Zurich–Singapore and Singapore–Penang sectors provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access, allowing you to rest properly during your journey. On the Zurich–Singapore sector, First Class offers a fully flat bed and a spacious personal area for added privacy and comfort.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Eligible customers may be invited to relax in facilities such as The Private Room, SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin and status.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Zurich but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport offers extensive gardens, quiet rest zones, play areas, and attractions that make transit time more enjoyable. For shorter layovers, you can stay airside to explore themed gardens, art installations, and relaxation spaces, or freshen up at shower facilities and transit hotels.

With a longer connection of at least around 5.5 to 6 hours, you may join one of the airport’s official transit tour programmes into the city, subject to operating hours and eligibility. These guided tours provide a snapshot of Singapore’s skyline, waterfront, and key districts before you return for your onward flight.

Zurich follows Central European Time (UTC+1) in winter, typically from late October to late March, and Central European Summer Time (UTC+2) in summer, from late March to late October. Penang follows Malaysia Time (UTC+8) all year and does not observe daylight saving.

From late October to late March, Penang is 7 hours ahead of Zurich. From late March to late October, during Swiss summer time, Penang is 6 hours ahead. Always check local times close to your travel dates, especially around the days when clocks change.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Penang when flying from Zurich via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Zurich–Singapore and Singapore–Penang) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Penang is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
