For flights between Hong Kong and Johannesburg, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage: Economy Class passengers may check 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class passengers may check 35kg, Business Class 40kg, and First Class 50kg where offered. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class and First Class may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights on this route once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Hong Kong to Singapore and Singapore to Johannesburg sectors, Economy Class offers a seat pitch of about 32 inches with up to 19 inches of seat width. Premium Economy Class, where available, provides a 38-inch seat pitch and up to 20 inches of width, while Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access on all flights. The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Hong Kong but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.
