For flights between Chennai and Medan, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are as follows: Economy Class passengers may check 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Business Class passengers may check up to 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class customers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class customers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final baggage allowance is confirmed on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Chennai to Medan once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Eligible customers may be able to use the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge during their transit.

Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Chennai but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

If your layover at Singapore Changi Airport is long enough, you can join the official city sightseeing tours that typically require a minimum transit time of around 5.5 to 6 hours, giving you a glimpse of Singapore before your onward flight. For shorter connections, it is best to remain airside and enjoy the airport's facilities.

Within the terminals, you will find themed gardens, rest areas, quiet zones, and play spaces, as well as a wide variety of dining and shopping options. Depending on your terminal, you may also have access to features such as entertainment zones or relaxation areas.

Chennai operates on India Standard Time, which is UTC+5:30 and does not observe daylight saving time. Medan follows Western Indonesia Time, which is UTC+7:00 and also does not change throughout the year. Medan is therefore 1 hour 30 minutes ahead of Chennai at all times.
