We are seeking to appoint to appoint a highly motivated and skilled Business Development Manager to join the Head Office E-commerce Logistics (Parxl) Team.

About the Role

The role is part of Singapore Airlines, Cargo Division (E-commerce Logistics) based in Australia and is responsible for obtaining new customers and fostering business relationships to increase revenue for Singapore Airlines’ cross-border e-commerce product, Parxl, in Australia. The role will report to the Head Office team based in Singapore. The ideal candidate should have experience in a sales position in the logistics industry, including selling e-commerce products and services.

Business Development

  • Work closely with Head Office E-commerce Logistics (Parxl) team to achieve monthly team and country revenue targets.
  • Conduct market research to monitor, track and understand key competitor offerings and promotions.
  • Generate leads to secure prospective customers. 
  • Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline of potential customers and convert leads to new customer accounts. 
  • Conduct sales presentations and participate in RFQ (where applicable) to convert qualified leads. 
  • Prepare and maintain documents and presentations, quotations, customer contracts, pipeline, sales reports, invoices etc.
  • Work closely with Head Office team to propose solutions which are aligned with internal operational requirements and meet customers’ needs.
  • Work closely with Head Office team to formulate and execute Country’s marketing plans and campaigns. 
  • Contribute ideas and work with Head Office team to improve business offering and value to customers.

 

Account Management

  • Responsible for smooth on-boarding of customers/ key accounts (i.e. including but not limited to IT integrations, operations set-up, reporting structure, trials, etc.). 
  • Regular monitoring of key customer accounts and performance to drive revenue and sales. 
  • Account management and serving of customer accounts for exceptions handling and investigation reporting.

 

Key Deliverables and Outcomes

  • Drive monthly team and country revenue growth by achieving assigned KPI targets.
  • Consistently convert sales leads into new customer accounts on a monthly basis. 
  • Successful servicing of customer accounts through operational support, problem solving and solutioning, in coordination with Head Office.

 

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Prior experience and/or keen understanding of E-commerce and Logistics industry preferred. 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (including cloud-based services) with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and digital tools. 
  • Able to multi-task and respond quickly and effectively to the challenges faced in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Positive energy and attitude. 
  •  Team player and able to work effectively in a team.

The starting salary may be adjusted commensurate with experience and includes superannuation.
