Before your flight
A little preparation goes a long way, especially if you are flying during this time when many destinations have introduced new travel requirements. Additionally, you should also ensure that you have a valid passport and visa before you fly.
Subscribe to travel advisories
You can check the latest travel advisories for your itinerary at any time via Manage Booking. As entry restrictions and requirements may change at short notice, do subscribe to email updates to stay informed.
Check Covid-19 test requirements
If a pre-departure or post-arrival test for Covid-19 is listed in the travel advisories for your itinerary, make an appointment early. You may also need to ensure that your testing window meets entry requirements.
Find your closest pre-departure Covid-19 test locations
Consider a travel insurance policy
For greater peace of mind, you may wish to purchase travel insurance with Covid-19 coverage, such as Travel insurance by Travel Guard underwritten by AIG. If this travel insurance policy is available for your itinerary, you can add it to your trip via Manage Booking.
Understanding baggage restrictions
If you are carrying hand sanitisers or alcohol-based disinfectants in your checked baggage, make sure that the weight does not exceed 0.5 litres or 0.5 kg per article and 2.0 litres or 2.0 kg in total. For cabin baggage, the usual 100ml limit for liquids will apply. To ensure a smooth boarding process, you are encouraged to travel as lightly as possible.

Update your contact details
Always make sure that the contact details associated with your booking are up-to-date. This lets us alert you about schedule changes or delays for your flight promptly. We will also send you an email with useful reminders 7 days before your trip.
Submit your health declaration online
If a health declaration is listed in the travel advisories for your itinerary, remember to complete it within the necessary time frame. For instance, if you are entering Singapore, you must submit this within three days before your flight.

Learn about changes to your airport experience
Do find out if there are new health and safety measures at your departing, transiting, and arriving airport as they may affect your travel.
Singapore Changi Airport | Star Alliance Airports | Perth, Australia | Brisbane, Australia | Melbourne, Australia | Adelaide, Australia | Sydney, Australia
We encourage all passengers to minimise their time at the airport by turning on auto check-in, checking in online, or checking in with the SingaporeAir mobile app if they are eligible to do so. Even if you are required to check in at the airport counter, be assured that there are many safety precautions in place to make your departure safe and smooth.
Generate boarding pass and declare checked baggage
If you are eligible for a digital or mobile boarding pass, generate them after checking in. If you wish to check in your baggage yourself (selected airports only), declare the number of bags for later printing of baggage tags at the airport, to minimise contact with the self-service kiosk.
Print baggage tags
If you have declared the number of bags you are checking in online, you can use self-service kiosks at selected airports to print your baggage tags, by simply scanning your digital or mobile boarding pass. Otherwise, you can declare checked baggage via the kiosks to generate. You will be prompted to scan your digital or mobile boarding pass. At Changi Airport, these kiosks are fitted with proximity sensors, so you will only need to hover your finger over the screen to make your selection.
Check in your bags at the automated bag drop
Once you have printed your baggage tags, attach them to your bags and drop them off at the automated bag drop counters. These automated bag drops counters are available at selected airports, including Changi Airport in Singapore.
Undergo a health assessment
You should expect to undergo a basic health assessment at the airport. Depending on the airport, this may include temperature screening or questionnaires about your travel history.
As you might expect, we have introduced safety precautions and stepped up cleaning protocols in our lounges. Additionally, the SilverKris lounge in Singapore has been accredited as a SG Clean establishment, which certifies that we are upholding a high level of sanitation and hygiene standards.
Check if the lounge is open
Even if you are eligible for lounge access, you should check if it is open before planning a visit as there may have been changes due to the Covid-19 outbreak. In Singapore Changi Airport, only the SilverKris lounge in Terminal 3 is open. However, most passengers transiting through Singapore, except those arriving from Australia, Brunei, Mainland China, New Zealand and Taiwan, will not be allowed access due to regulatory requirements.
Present your mobile boarding pass
To enter the lounge, simply show us your mobile boarding pass on the SingaporeAir mobile app. You will also be required to check in via SafeEntry. To do this, simply use your mobile to scan a QR code and submit your personal particulars.
Order food with your mobile
For your safety, we are offering à la carte meals instead of the usual self-service buffet service. Connect to SilverKris lounge WiFi, then scan the QR code at your table to view the menu and place your orders. Once your food is ready, you will be notified to pick it up at the collection point.

Expect a boarding reminder
When your flight is ready for boarding, you will be informed via a push notification from the SingaporeAir mobile app.

At the boarding gate, do remember to practice safe distancing and wait for your boarding group to be called before joining the queue. To help you maintain a safe distance from other passengers, there are floor markers at the boarding gate and aerobridge in Singapore Changi Airport.
Pick up your SIA Care kit
A complimentary kit containing a face mask, hand sanitiser, and disinfectant surface wipe for your well-being will be available to you prior to boarding your aircraft.
For the safety of our passengers, our cabin crew will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks, goggles or eye visors throughout the flight, when interacting with passengers.

A clean cabin for everyone
Sanitised cabin environment
Before every flight, the aircraft is thoroughly cleaned. Commonly-touched surfaces are disinfected. Lavatories are cleaned with high-strength disinfectants. And cabin surfaces are treated with a long-lasting antimicrobial coating.
Electrostatic spray cleaning
On selected aircraft, we use electrostatic spraying machines for a deeper clean. When sprayed, the disinfectant clings onto surfaces such as seat cushions very effectively and kills any bacteria present.
Filtered, clean air
Every aircraft in the Singapore Airlines Group fleet is equipped with High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, which remove more than 99.9% of the microbes in the air. Cabin air is also refreshed every two to three minutes throughout the flight.

Fresh linens and headsets
After every flight, all headsets, headrest covers, pillow covers, bedsheets and blankets are replaced. Our linens are laundered at high temperatures to sanitise them. Headsets are also disinfected and packed individually with hygienic covers.
Food safety and hygiene standards
In preparing your inflight meals, our catering partners uphold the highest hygiene standards including personal protective equipment for food handlers and using automation to reduce contact. Do note that meal services may be simplified or temporarily unavailable on certain flights to meet regulatory requirements.
Catering for your well-being >
Anti-bacterial wipes available with your meal
Although our hot towel service has been suspended as an added precaution, you can find anti-bacterial wipes in the SIA Care Kit being provided. Wipes will also be provided with your meal so you can sanitise your hands before eating.
Disposable coat covers available onboard
If you are bringing a jacket or suit and would like to hang it up in the closets on board, you can request for a disposable coat cover to protect it against dirt, dust, and cross infection.
Get tested for Covid-19 (if applicable)
Depending on your itinerary, you may be required to take a Covid-19 test at the airport before entering your destination. For instance, all travellers including Singapore Citizens and permanent residents, are required to take a Covid-19 PCR test upon arrival at Singapore Changi Airport. We strongly recommend that you refer to the travel advisories for your itinerary and familiarise yourself with the test process.
Retrieve your baggage carousel number
To avoid crowds, you can connect to airport WiFi and retrieve your baggage carousel number via the SingaporeAir mobile app. If you are transiting between Star Alliance airlines at London Heathrow Airport, you can also make use of the app’s guided navigation feature to view the fastest path to your next departure gate.
Translate local language instantly
Communicate seamlessly with the Translation Assistant on the SingaporeAir mobile app. With real-time voice translation, it is easy to seek help or feel at home in a foreign land.
More you can do to protect yourself
Here are some additional measures you can take to safeguard your health during your journey. For more information, refer to the WHO website.
Take care of your personal hygiene
Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser. Hand sanitisers are also freely available in Singapore Changi Airport, and have been included in your complimentary SIA Care Kit. Do use them to keep your hands clean whenever soap and water are not available.
Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue paper when you cough or sneeze. Dispose of the used tissue paper immediately and wash your hands.
Practice safe distancing at all times
From the boarding gate to the baggage belt, standing apart is safer for everyone. Keep a distance of at least 1 meter away from other passengers. If you are in Singapore Changi Airport, do make use of the floor markers.
Wear a face mask
All passengers who are six years old and above must wear a face mask throughout the flight due to regulatory requirements. The mask may be removed when eating and drinking. Although a face mask is provided in the complimentary SIA Care Kit, you may wish to bring along extras to ensure that you have sufficient supply throughout your journey. Replace the face mask once it is damp, and do not reuse single-use masks. Before you dispose of your face mask, wrap it in tissue paper or put it in a plastic bag and seal tightly before disposing of it in a closed bin. Remember to wash your hands afterwards.
If you feel unwell, seek help immediately
In most airports, you will be screened for signs of illnesses and asked to declare your health status. If you feel unwell before your flight, consult a doctor and rest at home. If you start to feel ill during your flight, let us know immediately. Our cabin crew has been trained to take care of you.
