The Singapore Airlines Nordics team proudly supported the Danish Food Bank during SIA Cares Week, where over 400 Singapore-based SIA staff volunteers and 900 international volunteers impacted more than 52 beneficiaries.
The Food Bank is dedicated to eliminating food waste and food poverty in Denmark. It collects surplus food from producers and wholesalers — food that is still good but cannot be sold — and redistributes it to social organizations that prepare meals for individuals facing difficult circumstances.
In 2023, the Food Bank converted 1,370 tonnes of surplus food into over 3.4 million meals, preventing it from being discarded. As Denmark’s largest organization specializing in the systematic and safe distribution of surplus food, the Food Bank relies on its dedicated volunteers to deliver food to those in need.

Over the course of two days, ten SIA volunteers immersed themselves in a range of activities. Some drove across Sjælland, delivering food and groceries to organizations in need, while others supported the drivers by scanning products, loading vehicles, and ensuring smooth operations.
In the warehouse, another team worked diligently to pack food, sort items, and organize supplies. Each volunteer played a crucial role, whether on the road or in the warehouse, contributing to a seamless and impactful effort.
The Nordics story is a small part of Singapore Airlines' global CSR efforts. Across five continents, from Copenhagen to Tokyo, our SIA volunteers collaborated with 52 beneficiary organizations. From delivering meals to organizing community events and providing essential supplies, our teams contributed to spreading SIA’s warmth and hospitality around the world.
These initiatives showcase our unwavering commitment to social responsibility and community support.
