Get acquainted with Ms Jeannie Cho Lee; the first Asian to be awarded the illustrious Master of Wine title in 2008, Mr Michael Hill Smith; the first Australian to pass the rigorous Master of Wine examination and be awarded the prestigious Order of Australia in recognition of his contribution to the Australian wine industry, and Mr Oz Clarke; one of the most recognised wine critics in the UK and esteemed Officier de l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole by recognition of the French government in 2010.

About the Wine Consultants

Ms Jeannie Cho Lee, Mr Michael Hill-Smith and Mr Oz Clarke currently make up the SIA panel of wine consultants. They are tasked with the selection of all wines served on Singapore Airlines and the development of the Airlines’ staff training programme in wine appreciation.

Jeannie Cho Lee is Asia’s first Master of Wine with a doctorate in marketing & branding and is renowned as a prominent wine writer, critic, judge and educator. She is an award-winning author of three books and her contributions to the wine industry have earned her the prestigious Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, bestowed by President Macron of France. Jeannie is also consultant to Sotheby’s Hospice de Beaune and serves as a Professor of Wine at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Hotel and Tourism Management.
Michael Hill Smith

Michael Hill Smith

Michael is an international wine judge, consultant and wine producer. In 1988 he became the first Australian to pass the rigorous Master of Wine examination, winning the inaugural Madame Bollinger Tasting Medal the same year. He also holds an Advanced Diploma from the Cordon Bleu School in London. Currently he is Joint Chair of the Decanter World Wine Awards and has had extensive judging experience at numerous international and Australian Wine Shows. Michael is also co-founder of Shaw + Smith in the Adelaide Hills and Tolpuddle Vineyard in Tasmania. In 2008 he was awarded an Order of Australia in recognition of his contribution to Australian Wine.
Oz Clarke

Oz Clarke

Oz is one of the world’s most celebrated and colourful wine authorities. His passion began as a student at Oxford University, where he was captain of the Wine Tasting Team. He has won all the major wine writing awards – from the Glenfiddich, to the Andre Simon, the Lanson, The James Beard and the Wine Guild. Oz has authored numerous award-winning books on wine, including ‘Bordeaux’, ‘Oz Clarke on Wine: Your Global Wine Companion’, and ‘Oz Clarke’s Story of Wine’. As a former actor, Oz also hosts several popular television and radio programmes on wine. He was awarded the Officier de l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole by the French government and the OBE by the British Government.

Singapore Airlines (“SIA”) is pleased to offer eligible PPS Club members an oppurtunity to redeem 40,000 KrisFlyer miles per Participant (defined below) to participate in a Wine Appreciation Evening with Singapore Airlines Wine Consultants (“the Experience”) on the terms and conditions herein. The Experience must be redeemed in full using KrisFlyer miles. By registering for the Experience, eligible PPS Club members agree to the terms and conditions herein.

  1. The details and specific terms and conditions of the Experience are as follows:

Number of participants:

The experience shall have a maximum capacity of sixty (60) participants ("Participants"), and is subject to any adjustments based on any safety and regulatory guidelines as communicated by the relevant authorities.

Experience Details:

Participants will enjoy a masterclass and dinner reception with Singapore Airlines Wine Consultants.

  1. To be eligible for the Experience, a PPS Club member must fulfil the following criteria:                                      (a)        be a direct recipient of the electronic direct mailer sent by SIA titled “A Wine Appreciation Evening with Singapore Airlines Wine Consultants”; and                                                                                                            (b)        have a balance of at least 40,000 KrisFlyer miles in his/her KrisFlyer membership account on the date of registration.
  2. Each eligible PPS Club member may bring one guest for the Experience. If an eligible PPS Club member wishes to bring a guest for the Experience, the eligible PPS Club member must have a balance of at least 80,000 KrisFlyer miles in his/her KrisFlyer membership account on the date of registration. All Participants must be at least eighteen (18) years old as at the date of the Experience.
  3. Eligible PPS Club members who wish to participate in the Experience are invited to indicate their interest via this link or by providing the required information to PPSClub_Reserves@singaporeair.com.sg. The required information is as follows:                                                                                                                                          (a)        their PPS Club membership number;                                                                                                          (b)        the names and contact numbers of the proposed Participants; and                                                            (c)         the dietary restrictions and/or allergies of the proposed Participants.
  4. Registrations for the Experience will be on a first-come, first-served basis and will be closed one week prior to the date of the Experience or when it is fully subscribed, whichever is earlier.
  5. Successfully registered PPS Club members will receive a confirmation email from the PPS Club Reserves team. Successfully registered PPS Club members shall procure and ensure that their guest (if any) agrees to and complies with these terms and conditions (as applicable).  
  6. After the confirmation email has been sent out by the PPS Club Reserves team, a successfully registered PPS Club member may withdraw their registration by sending an email to PPSClub_Reserves@singaporeair.com.sg on or before 17th February 2025, 11.59pm. If a successfully registered PPS Club member fails to withdraw their registration in accordance with the foregoing requirements, then save as otherwise expressly set out in these terms and conditions, strictly no refund or recharge of the redeemed KrisFlyer miles will be provided under any circumstance.
  7. All Participants are to adhere to all prevailing and applicable safety and regulatory guidelines as may be communicated by the relevant authorities and/or SIA. Participants agree to comply with and adhere to all relevant requirements pursuant to any prevailing and applicable requirements when attending the Experience, including Capella Hotel, Singapore's Code of Conduct (as applicable).
  8. In the event a Participant that has successfully registered for the Experience is unable to attend the Experience due to testing positive for COVID-19 or any other reason, such Participant shall not attend the Experience and SIA is not obliged to reschedule the Experience or otherwise provide a replacement for the benefit of such Participant. If such Participant is a successfully registered PPS Club member, his/her guest (if any) shall not be allowed to attend the Experience.
  9. While SIA shall take the necessary steps and precautions in accordance with prevailing safety and regulatory guidelines, Participants of the Experience acknowledge that they are attending the Experience at their own risk. SIA is not liable to the Participants in case any of the Participants tests positive for COVID-19 following the Experience.
  10. Each eligible PPS Club member shall declare their dietary restrictions and/or allergies, as well as those of their guest (if any), to SIA when registering for the Experience. However, SIA cannot guarantee that SIA and/or Capella Hotel, Singapore will be able to accommodate all dietary restrictions and/or allergies. SIA shall not be responsible or liable for any medical claims, reimbursement of expenses, losses or damages suffered or incurred by Participants in connection with the food and beverages served during the Experience.   
  11. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SIA is not liable to the Participants for any loss, damage, death, injury, disability and any loss or damage to property or person from any cause in connection with the Experience and related activities.
  12. In the event that the Experience cannot proceed at the specified date, time or venue due to unforeseen circumstances, including circumstances arising from or related to COVID-19, SIA reserves the right to amend the Experience details and/or reschedule the Experience at its sole discretion. If a Participant is unable to attend the Experience on the rescheduled date, the corresponding KrisFlyer Miles will be credited back into the successfully registered PPS Club member's KrisFlyer membership account.
  13. Unless otherwise specified, SIA will not be responsible for and will not bear any and all expenses and ancillary costs which may be incurred by eligible PPS Club member(s) and/or Participants in connection with the Experience.
  14. By registering for and/or participating in the Experience, eligible PPS Club members and/or Participants agree that, to the fullest extent permitted by law, no claim relating to any losses or injuries (including but not limited to special, indirect and consequential losses) shall be asserted against SIA, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and all of its respective agents, servants, contractors, directors, and employees, for any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind resulting from the Experience, including without limitation, bodily injuries, death and property damage.
  15. SIA will not be liable or responsible for any separate experiences and/or promotions, including any disputes that may arise in relation to the same, that may be offered by Capella Hotel, Singapore during the Experience.
  16. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the eligible PPS Club members and/or Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless SIA, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and all of its respective directors, employees, servants, agents and contractors (the “Indemnified Parties”) from and against all actions, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and expenses of whatever nature arising out of, in connection with, or due to the Participants’ participation in the Experience, the use of any information or material supplied by the eligible PPS Club members and/or Participants to the Indemnified Parties, the Participants’ withdrawal from the Experience for any reason, or any act or omission of the eligible PPS Club members and/or Participants.
  17. Conditions of use for the website, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and PPS Club/KrisFlyer terms and conditions shall apply, and by registering for the Experience, each eligible PPS Club member agrees to all of the foregoing terms.
  18. SIA may capture photographs, audio, video, and other recordings ("Recordings") of the Participants in the course of the Experience. By participating in the Experience, Participants consent to the collection, use, disclosure, and other processing (collectively, “Process” or “Processing”) of such Recordings for commercial and/or publicity purposes across all media, including but not limited to SIA's publications, and websites.  Participants may object to Processing of Recordings of them by contacting PPS Club Reserves at PPSClub_Reserves@singaporeair.com.sg or informing a member of SIA’s staff at the Experience. Such consent by Participants also constitutes agreement that the Recordings in their original or edited format may be Processed as described above without further notification, remuneration or compensation, and that copyright and all other intellectual property rights in and to all Recordings shall vest solely and absolutely in SIA.
  19. By registering for and/or participating in the Experience, eligible PPS Club members and/or the Participants consent that SIA may Process their personal data for the purposes of the Experience as detailed in these terms and conditions and in accordance with the SIA Privacy Policy. If an eligible PPS Club member or Participant provides SIA with any personal data relating to a third party (e.g., an intended guest), by submitting such information to SIA, the eligible PPS Club member or Participant warrants and represents to SIA that the eligible PPS Club member or Participant has obtained the consent of such third party to the eligible PPS Club member or Participant providing SIA with their personal data, and for the Processing of their personal data for the relevant purposes set out herein, as well as all purposes set out in the SIA Privacy Policy and by or for the benefit of the persons referenced in the same.
  20. SIA reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions or terminate the Experience without prior notice.
  21. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Experience, these terms and conditions shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.
  22. A person who is not a party to these terms and conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 of Singapore to enforce any of these terms and conditions.
  23. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
